Choosing your Dyson Chitosan™ Pre-style cream: which one is right for you

For long-lasting flexible hold, choose from Straight to wavy light conditioning, Straight to wavy rich conditioning, Curly to coily light conditioning or Curly to coily rich conditioning.

Each variant has been carefully developed to deliver optimum conditioning, without weighing down your hair.

To pick the right formula, ask yourself the following:

Hair strands naturally have a shape – ranging from poker straight to tightly coiled.

Knowing this shape helps to choose the best products, devices and styles for its care. 

Our Pre-style cream is tailored to two groups of hair shapes: straight to wavy, and curly to coily. To pick the right one, imagine your hair has been freshly washed and left to air-dry. What shape do the majority of the strands take? 

Tip: If your hair has been permanently straightened or styled, refer to the shape your hair currently takes when air-dried.

If your hair strands naturally dry straight, form a loose wave, or a more distinct S-shape with some spiral curling, select a straight to wavy formula.

If your hair strands naturally dry into loose spiral curls and ringlets, tighter corkscrew or S-curls, or a closely-coiled Z-pattern, select a curly to coily formula.

Which one you prefer may be based on your hair thickness (fine, medium, or thick strands), the condition of your hair, or personal preference.

Our light conditioning formulas use grapeseed oil to nourish without adding excess weight to the hair. If your hair strands are finer, or your overall hair density thinner, select a light conditioning formula.

Using more intensely nourishing ingredients like castor seed oil, our rich conditioning formulas condition, soften and maintain shine. If your hair is thicker, in strand diameter and/or density, or is especially dry or damaged, you may prefer a rich conditioning formula.

Dyson Chitosan™ Pre-style cream is the foundation of your styling routine. Used on damp, towel-dried hair, it helps to lock in flexible hold and prime your hair ready for styling.
