A guide to choosing the right Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer attachment

All Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer attachments are designed to give optimal control in styling, in an intuitive and easy-to-use way. They’ve been engineered with as much care as the machine itself. New attachments are fully compatible with older versions of the machine.

The Flyaway attachment is the ideal finishing tool for sleek, straight styles. It harnesses the Coanda effect to hide flyaways using air, not heat. Longer hairs are attracted and lifted to the front while flyaways are pushed out of sight.

The attachment gives you a smooth, shiny finish and is designed to be used on high speed and low heat. For thicker hair, use higher heat. And for finer hair, use a cooler setting. The Flyaway attachment should be used only on dry and straight hair or hair that’s been straightened.

Engineered to disperse air evenly around curls, the Diffuser simulates natural drying, helping to reduce frizz and define curls and waves. Longer prongs allow you to style more hair with greater control – and reach deeper into the hair. This attachment helps maintain hair’s natural texture while effectively drying it.

Engineered to be kinder to fine hair and sensitive scalps, the Gentle air attachment diffuses the air, creating a gentle, cooler airflow – while still drying hair fast. It lowers the temperature by up to 20°C¹, which helps prevent colour fade too.

Engineered for curly and textured hair, the Wide-tooth comb attachment has robust teeth to help lengthen hair as it dries or create volume and shape. We recommend starting with a smoothing cream before using the attachment. Use the cold shot to relax curls.

The Styling concentrator has a wide, thin design for precision styling. It’s engineered to create a high-velocity blade of air, giving you airflow precisely where you need it. And because the air is focused, you can style one section at a time – without disturbing the rest.

Create volume and shape by pairing the Styling concentrator with the Dyson Vented Barrel brush – either the 45mm or 35mm barrel size – and rolling hair around the brush. You can achieve smooth, straight styles with this attachment, or airflow can bend the hair to create a natural, wavy look.

This attachment lets you dry and style your hair simultaneously with gentle, low-speed, concentrated airflow. It helps to remove frizz and create a sleek, natural finish. The Smoothing nozzle can add width to your hair, or you can use it with a barrel brush to bend the ends and create bounce.
